      No. I would be killed and wouldn’t be able to relay the information back to the scientists at home on Earth. In areas of immense gravity, time is warped in such a way that it will slow down. Suppose I was near a black hole “studying it”. Since the time for me would slow down, by the time I arrive home (I am assuming loads of things which simply couldn’t happen… such as lightspeed travel for example) then humanity will have advanced hundreds, thousands if not tens of thousands of years. By that time, they may have figured out better ways to study black holes than placing a poor person next to it. This would mean that my journey was completely useless and I have now “travelled in time” to the future. In summary: No, I wouldn’t go anywhere near a black hole because the journey literally wouldn’t be worth it.
